Oakleaf reaches the finals for regional awards
Oakleaf is proud to have been a finalist in the recent LABC West of England Region for the Best Small New Housing Development, for the Westminster Road development in Kidderminster.
The Westminster Road site previously contained 14 derelict garages which had laid unused for years and were becoming an ‘eyesore’ to local residents. They were demolished to create three new dormer style bungalows which are available for shared ownership and therefore providing more affordable housing options for local people.
The site was a difficult site to build on due to the confined space to work in and having restricted access for machinery and deliveries. However, this didn’t deter the team who have worked on many constricted sites previously.
Ian Hancock, Group Director/Interim Managing Director (Operations), commented: “It has been a fantastic effort by everyone and we can’t win every time, but we are pleased to see our efforts have been recognised and reflected in the fact we were shortlisted alongside some very high quality competition.
“Well done and thank you to everyone involved in this development.”
