We support The Community Housing Group to deliver great homes and neighbourhoods, inside and out.
Grounds Maintenance and Cleaning
Our grounds teams manage the grounds maintenance service for The Community Housing Group, including grass cutting, hedges and shrub bed maintenance. We also carry our condition surveys of the trees on TCHG land.
Mowing and Turf Maintenance
Our teams ensure the grassed areas are maintained and tidy, and we have a modern and well-maintained fleet of mowers and equipment that can suit the demands of any job.
- Rotary and cylinder cuts – for a park-like finish on any size of area
- Rough flail cutting for meadows and overgrown areas
- Strimming – hard to reach areas by hedging or close to walls.
Hedge and Shrub Bed Maintenance
We carry out shrub bed maintenance to the Group’s estates together with hedge care/hedgerow management, including trimming and shaping, clipping and replacement.
All hedge care and hedgerow management is carried out in line with conservation and wildlife preservation regulations.
Sports Pitches and Play Areas
We provide playing field and sports pitch management to number of schools and sports associations, and we understand how maintaining a sports pitch is important to those who use them. Our services include:
- Site levelling and grading
- Aeration/verti draining/slitting to improve drainage
- Reseeding and top dressing
- Selective weed treatment
- Fertiliser application
- Replacement of turf
- White line markings for all types of pitches or running tracks
- Regular mowing programme
- Artificial turf maintenance
All our teams are Enhanced DBS checked as we know how important it is to be aware of security requirements when working in schools or with vulnerable clients. Our staff also wear uniforms and carry identification so that they can be easily recognised, and all of our vehicles carry the Oakleaf branding.
We also inspect and maintain the equipment on 16 play areas across the district.
Our team of experienced climbers and qualified tree surgeons provide a complete tree care service for The Community Housing Group. This can be from complete removal, general pruning and shaping, to simply taking away damaged branches from disease or storm damage.
They are City and Guilds and NPTC qualified and fully compliant with all Health and Safety Regulations for working practices and the operation of machinery.

Cleaning and Facilities Management
Our building cleaning and hygiene service covers both internal and external works for buildings/properties belonging to The Community Housing Group including:
- Site clearance – including fly tipping and litter picking
- Bulky refuse removal – including correct disposal of white goods
- Sweeping and litter removal from communal areas
- High pressure jet wash cleaning of paved and concrete areas
- Weed removal/prevention from paved and block paved areas.
Our teams clean all internal and communal housing areas such as staircases, landings, lifts and empty rubbish bins.
We provide a winter gritting service to The Community Housing Group, servicing their sheltered housing schemes, strategic sites and offices, as well as a snow clearance facility.
As the primary responsive repairs and maintenance contractor for The Community Housing Group, our fully trained and accredited teams deliver an effective and efficient service to ensure all responsive repairs are delivered on time.
We have a highly skilled property services team who can solve the majority of the maintenance issues. Our multi-trade specialists are able to deliver minor to major buildings works, as well as a responsive maintenance service.
Our electricians are fully qualified and are NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) registered and work to the latest technical and safety standards.
Our team of qualified plumbers can diagnose and rectify any faults and our heating team area Gas Safe registered heating engineers to carry out repairs and upgrades to heating systems.
We have an on-call team available for out of hours emergency repairs and our aim is to achieve this within 24 hours, depending on the severity of the repair. An emergency is anything that could be a potential health and safety risk to the occupant or danger of serious damage to the building, such as heating failures or burst pipes.
